If you don’t have an online presence, start one now. Set up profiles on Google, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Yelp, update your website and make sure it’s mobile friendly. Post something at least once per week.
What to post? 5 categories: education, motivation, inspirational, or promotional. Or personal sharing your story.
If your business has been solely face to face, its time to learn about technology to make it easier to transact online.
If you almost went out of business by being closed for 30-60 days, it’s time to take a hard look at your finances. Get a book called Profit First and learn the methodology. Start an account that will serve as your business emergency fund and set a goal of 3 months of operating expenses. Do the same for your personal finances.
If your current business model is not able to go online, start to think about your pivot. Start thinking about what goods or services will be in high demand after the economy opens up. Get your game plan together NOW! Start calling or messaging people that may be an ideal client for your new idea and ask them what the biggest challenges they are facing? What problems do they need solved?
Even if you don’t have all the answers now, Google and YouTube are your best friends. You can learn nearly any skill. Take this time to study and come out of this shutdown with new insights, skills, ideas and be ready to rock when it’s time!
Between now and then, start a Facebook business page or YouTube channel and start documenting your journey and what your learning and share your knowledge. Ask friends to share if you can.
